Tax & Benefits Associate-Energy

Our client’s Tax Practice subgroup within the Tax & Benefits practice group is seeking a mid- to senior-level associate with 5 to 8 years of experience to join its transactional tax team, focusing on the energy industry. This position is available in New York, Philadelphia, Richmond, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Portland, or Houston, with potential consideration for additional locations based on the candidate’s profile.
The ideal candidate will have experience representing clients involved in renewable energy tax credit transactions including financings and M&A pertaining to solar energy, wind energy, energy storage facilities, and carbon capture facilities. Candidates should have experience in a transactional tax practice with a focus on the energy industry, working with tax equity investors, lenders, and project developers and sponsors, including regulated utilities and their unregulated affiliates, on a wide range of tax issues.
Partnership experience, including drafting partnership agreements and tax opinions, is particularly beneficial. Strong academic credentials and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. While law firm experience is preferred, large accounting firm experience will also be considered.
As a part of the Tax Practice team, the position will have firm-wide interaction and client contact. The Tax & Benefits group and the Firm support the growth and development of its members by supporting involvement in professional organizations and speaking and writing opportunities.
Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in the state in which they practice.
The salary range for this position is $305,000.00-$380,000.00, plus bonus, dependent on relevant years of experience.
