Summary

The Social Media Manager plays a leading role in the Firm’s global social media function-guiding on strategy, protocols and schedule; ensuring excellence in quality and execution; and liaising with senior leadership and colleagues to impact overall success and messaging. The social media function entails support of firmwide messaging and press releases, business/client wins, awards and accolades, thought leadership, and cultural cornerstones as well as other key business functions, such as: Alumni Relations, DEI, Pro Bono, Professional Development, Recruiting, Social Responsibility and Wellness.
Working closely with the Senior Director of Marketing and Alumni Relations, the Social Media Manager also plays a pivotal role in the Firm’s website content governance, alumni relations communications, global internal magazine and video content efforts.

Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions

  • Utilize demonstrated expertise in corporate use of LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and emerging digital platforms, including with respect to daily posts, advertising capabilities, social listening and follower growth.
  • Provide tailored social media guidance to individual partners and senior business services professionals – as well as conduct occasional group trainings – upon request through planned meetings and one-off consultations on best practices on engaging with social media and developing an individual’s personal brand.
  • Oversee social media analytics.
  • Provide long-form writing/interviewing, content management and project management in support of global internal magazine.
  • Support the monthly publication of the Firm’s global Alumni Newsletter, including scripting and editorial review of video content.
  • Coordinate content rollout across Firm platforms, being mindful of technical functionality, site organization, and approval and collaborative processes.
  • Oversee various and timely content governance audit processes.
  • Lead select marketing campaigns across the Marketing/Alumni/Digital Programs teams.
  • Manage the Content Strategy Specialist.
  • Vendor management, as needed.
  • Any additional responsibilities as required by management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • At least 6+ years of experience in social media and digital marketing; professional services preferred. Video experience a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and organizational skills, with a mindset of pragmatism and proactivity.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with proven success in a corporate communications role.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy, especially with respect to forecasting and future success.
  • Strong internal networking and influencing skills.
  • A collaborative leader, who will work with a large cross-section across the Firm-legal and business roles across international offices, as well as strategic and operational functions.
  • Capable of succeeding in a fast-paced business and corporate communications environment.
  • Proven ability to comprehend and distill legal and financial writing.
  • This role requires regular on-site presence in the New York office.
  • This role has off-hours expectations.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university in a related field.

*Estimated salary range is $165,000.00-$180,000.00, plus bonus. Compensation decisions within the range are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case including but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
