Senior Manager of Inclusion

Summary
The Senior Manager of Inclusion will play a pivotal role in advancing the Firm’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Working closely with the Chief Inclusion Officer, this role involves spearheading various DEI initiatives, managing communications efforts, overseeing diversity metrics analysis, responding to diversity surveys, and providing senior-level support on special projects.

This position will sit in their Roseland, NJ; New York, NY or Washington, DC office and currently offers a hybrid work opportunity. 

Essential Job Requirements

  • Work closely with the Chief Inclusion Officer to implement the Firm’s DEI initiatives and firmwide DEI Strategic Plan.
  • Monitor and prepare internal and external DEI communications, including award submissions, factsheets, website updates, LS intranet updates, DEI reports, DEI performance review summaries, etc.
  • Assist with the creation of DEI training programs.
  • Oversee internal and external diversity metrics analysis for client surveys, RFPs, external surveys, and internal tracking.
  • Lead coordination of attorney attendance at affinity bar association conferences and events.
  • Supervise the development of DEI marketing materials and products, program advertisements, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Inclusion Officer to develop the annual DEI budget, track spending, prepare variance reports, and make special funding requests.
  • Assist with communication of DEI best practices to key stakeholders.
  • Work with the Marketing Department to track formal pitch team demographics.
  • Work with the Recruiting Department to track entry-level and lateral talent demographics.
  • Support the firm’s goal of achieving recognition as a diversity, equity, and inclusion leader by regularly informing the Chief Inclusion Officer and senior leadership about best practices, trends, and legislative developments in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Facilitate efforts to sync the Recruiting Committee’s entry-level recruiting outreach efforts with the employee resource groups’ efforts.
  • Work with the Governance Committee to track committee appointments.
  • When needed, provide support to the Firm’s employee resource groups.
  • Manage firm participation with external DE&I organizations that provide Firm attorneys leadership and business development opportunities.
  • Obtain relevant DEI data and metrics for client requests and presentations.
  • All other duties as assigned or required. 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Must have five years of professional experience, with at least three years of direct experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion topics in a professional setting; law firm experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with administrative staff and attorneys at all levels of a large law firm.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience creating content for web and print-based publications.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure and be effective at multi-tasking.
  • Exceptional client service focus with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to drive decision-making and measure impact.
  • Familiarity with working with AI tools and technologies to analyze data and drive insights related to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently on assignments and initiatives while using good judgment in deciding when to take action or ask for direction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with relational databases such as Intapp and Aderant; as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Graduate degree a plus

Amount of Travel Required: Occasional travel to East Coast offices, 1-2 trips per month; with 1-2 trips per year to the West Coast offices.

*For candidates meeting the requirements, the expected base salary is $165,000 to $190,000. The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
