Senior Financial Analyst

Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for researching and analyzing financial information to help the Firm make well informed decisions. The Financial Analyst will prepare reports, analyze key performance indicators (“KPIs”), create financial presentations, build client budgets, and perform client profitability analyses.  This position will report to the Manager of Budgeting and Financial Analysis. 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute quarterly, monthly, annual and ad hoc reports.
  • Review and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Analyze trends.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for Firm management.
  • Assist with the maintenance of various databases.
  • Optimize reporting processes by leveraging new technology.
  • Create and maintain client budgets.
  • Prepare client profitability analyses.
  • Provide assistance to attorneys and professional staff.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a law firm or professional services industry.
  • Outstanding sense of customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an enthusiastic, proactive and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally interact with attorneys, staff, and co-workers within the firm as well as with clients.
  • Must be self-directed and able to thrive in a busy, time-sensitive environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to execute through to completion.
  • Sound business judgment with an understanding of financial systems and the changing role of technology to best manage the client accounting function.
  • Must have the ability to analyze financial data and prepare concise reports to assist management in understanding variances.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with Elite 3E system is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed and master new applications and software is critical.
