Real Estate Paralegal

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
- Create repeatable, tech-forward processes for transactions
- Facilitate a seamless loan underwriting and closing process and interface directly with all relevant parties (including outside counsel, borrower’s counsel, third-party vendors and in-house teams) to ensure smooth transactions
- Efficiently manage deal pipeline
- Review, analyze and prepare memos on all aspects of title insurance commitments, exceptions, endorsements and policies; survey and legal descriptions; and property zoning
- Generate documents from templated forms using Firm software/technology, and assist with review of Borrower comments to documents
- Perform due diligence on loans/properties, including property zoning or other governmental searches, background on borrowers, lease reviews, etc., and coordinate third-party vendors (such as environmental, appraisers, property inspectors and insurance consultants)
- Manage entire closing process from loan approval through post-closing documentation/trailing items, including document preparation, review and coordination with all relevant parties
- Prepare closing binders, faciliate checklists, and coordinate with all parties
- Assist and support all principals (key internal resource)
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience representing lenders in connection with commercial real estate transactions
- Firm lends $1MM – $10MM (stabilized and bridge) on multifamily and mixed-use properties. Comparable experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing CRE loans from cradle to grave, including running closings, handling NY CEMA’s and related issues, determining title endorsements, etc.
- Undergraduate degree from very good school and/or impressive grades/track-record academically
- Paralegal certificate strongly preferred
- Able to work from NYC office on a hybrid basis
- Extensive experience with loan documentation, title and survey
- Very strong organizational skills
- Excellent analytical, communication, project management and multi-tasking skills
- Superior verbal and written communication skills

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: Targeting $80,000.00-$140,000.00 annually, plus bonus, commensurate with experience
