Summary
A leading law firm’s Charleston office is looking for a Paralegal to assist its Health Care Litigation and Disputes Practice Group in all aspects of the practice. This is a good position for an entry-level paralegal. Some experience in litigation is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Organize, maintain, and track documents for case files.
- Prepare and maintain pleading and discovery notebooks.
- Draft routine legal documents and correspondence.
- Collect documents from various sources.
- Docket litigation deadlines.
- File legal documents with various courts.
- Collect, organize, and prepare exhibits for productions and court filings.
- Review and analyze documents.
- Communicate with clients and other counsel.
- Conduct various document searches and factual research.
- Provide support for other duties as assigned by attorneys and senior paralegal.
Requirements
- Exceptional organization and detail-orientation
- Ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects for several attorneys
- Ability to search database programs and assist with organizing, summarizing, and/or categorizing documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Adaptable to changing priorities; flexible
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with all levels of firm personnel, clients, other counsel, and vendors.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and create solutions
- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
- Ability to adapt to various litigation software platforms.
- Legal Education: Paralegal or Legal Studies Certificate/degree.
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
- Prior paralegal experience or law firm experience is a plus.
Compensation
- $60,000.00-$80,000.00 annually plus overtime.
