Paralegal, General Counsel’s Office

Summary
You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including implementing and coordinating the Firm’s audit letter response process, including the preparation of audit letter responses for review by the Associate General Counsel and Firm partners and working closely with various Firm departments to collect and synthesize necessary information. You will also collaborate with other members of the Office of General Counsel on special projects, as needed, including engagement letters, AML/KYC research, continuing legal education, and insider trading projects. You will also be responsible, on an as needed basis, for the review, analysis, and resolution of potential conflicts, with respect to both lateral attorney candidates and new business intake. This role may also assist in drafting waivers and engagement letters or other documentation.
Essential Job Requirements
- Create and coordinate responses to auditor inquiries. Consult with General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, Conflicts, IT, Finance, and Firm Partners as necessary.
- Provide timely status reports to the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, Conflicts, and Recruiting Departments, as necessary, regarding the progress of the conflict identification and resolution process.
- Oversee the audit letter workflow to ensure timely and accurate process.
- Assist with file reviews.
- Assist with CLE preparations.
- Review and update insider trading policies.
- Assist attorneys in interpretation of conflict of interest reports.
- Update and maintain the integrity of the Firm’s names database.
- Collaborate with other members of the Office of General Counsel on special projects, as needed, including engagement letters, AML/KYC research, continuing legal education, and insider trading projects.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS).
- Juris Doctor or Paralegal training/certificate preferred.
- Knowledge of laws, Rules of Professional Conduct, and risk management requirements governing conflicts of interest and conflicts resolution processes.
- Experience doing legal and corporate affiliation research.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and work within extremely tight deadlines.
- Ability to understand, analyze, interpret, and prepare complex conflict reports.
- General knowledge of transactional and litigation matters and ability to identify when party information is incomplete.
- Familiarity with name aliases of major organizations.
- Ability to treat sensitive/confidential information with appropriate discretion.
- Maintain a reliable attendance record. Arrive to work in a timely manner and observe prescribed work break and meal periods.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all firm policies and procedures.

Compensation
$75,000.00-$100,000.00, plus overtime and bonus.
