Litigation Paralegal

Summary
Our client seeks a seasoned litigation paralegal in their brand-new Chicago office to assist attorneys with commercial litigation and complex product liability matters.
Responsibilities
Performing a broad range of substantive paralegal tasks, this candidate will work directly with attorneys on product liability, toxic tort disputes, complex commercial litigation, business litigation and other complex business disputes in a variety of industries. This individual will maintain and monitor court deadlines for assigned cases and take ownership of case calendars; electronically file documents with the Court through the ECF system under the supervision of an attorney; perform online PACER research; and prepare drafts of pleadings, notices, and motions. Trial experience is a must.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- at least 10 years of litigation experience in a law firm, including case preparation from beginning to end and an understanding of a paralegal’s role in the litigation life cycle.
- the desire to work in an advisory role to assist in mentoring and training other paralegals and practice assistants.
- strong organizational skills.
- well-developed critical thinking skills.
- a working knowledge of Excel.
- a strong sense of accountability.
- 2 or 4-year degree and a paralegal certificate; however, work experience may be substituted for education.
- Ability to conduct research using various research tools, including the Internet and Westlaw.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet business needs.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $115,000.00-$125,000.00, plus overtime and bonus non-exempt.
