Legal Administrative Assistant

Premier, national, law firm has a position available for an experienced full-time Legal Administrative Assistant (Legal Secretary) in their Chicago Office, supporting the Litigation practice group.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess 5+ years of litigation experience, Financial Services Litigation preferred.
- Candidates must be versed in State and Federal Court e-filing.
- Understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and local and state court rules.
- Must have excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including the expertise of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to work independently and in a team setting.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage files, open new matters as attorneys request, and maintain all relevant document inclusions for the files.
- Responsible for various administrative tasks including strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with meticulous attention to detail.
- Manage calendars and travel schedules.
- Assist with billing projects and reviews.
- Pay attention to the minute details of a project or task, in addition to looking for alternative options/solutions to better serve attorneys and clients
- Maintain current knowledge of litigation as it relates to the financial services practice
- Communicate professionally (verbal and written) with attorneys, co-workers, clients and any outside companies and vendors
- Other duties as assigned
Qualified candidates must possess strong initiative, demonstrate an ability to anticipate needs, resolve issues/problems independently, have strong organizational skills, and manage multiple projects/tasks at a time. Other essential requirements for this position include the ability to communicate effectively and professionally to develop rapport with co-workers as well as clients; maintain strong working relationships; exhibit meticulous attention to detail; handle confidential and sensitive information; and possess strong proofreading and typing skills.

**The budgeted salary range for this position is $75,000.00-$100,000.00, plus overtime and bonus depending on level of experience.
