Knowledge and Innovation Assistant

Summary

As a key member of our Knowledge and Innovation team, the K&I Assistant will collaborate closely with K&I Attorneys to drive our firm’s knowledge-sharing and technology initiatives. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and other advanced technologies and process improvements to enhance efficiency, service quality and user experience.

  • Innovative Technology: Engage with generative AI and other advanced technologies and assist in integrating these tools into our legal practice.
  • Knowledge Management: Collaborate with attorneys to develop and maintain the firm’s knowledge resources, including precedent databases, practice area repositories, and work product libraries, while identifying and implementing opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.

Responsibilities

Resource Development

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of practice group resources.
  • Organize, upload and tag legal documents.
  • Interface with attorneys to gather key matter information and ensure our knowledge bases are accurate and complete.

AI Testing & Integration

  • Work closely with K&I Attorneys to test, evaluate and incorporate AI and other innovations into our processes, support the development of AI training materials, and facilitate access workflows.

Project Coordination

  • Support the implementation and roll-out of new technologies and processes, including coordinating with vendors, tracking progress and ensuring smooth project execution.

Stay Ahead of Trend

  • Stay informed about new legal technologies and industry trends, and share your findings with the team.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree from an accredited university or college. Minimum 3.5 GPA. Interest in law or technology, as demonstrated through coursework, extracurricular activities, internships or other work experience strongly preferred.
  • Legal Tech Enthusiast: Ability to quickly learn and understand various applications, databases, programs, systems, tools and new technologies. Prior work experience in law or technology is a plus.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across a large team. You’ll be working with a variety of stakeholders, so responsiveness and professionalism are key.
  • Creative problem-solver: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to understand and leverage the resources, services and tools available to solve day-to-day problems and tasks.
  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: Highly developed organizational skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail. Ability to understand priorities. You can manage multiple priority projects/tasks at once to meet designated deadlines. You thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive & Dedicated: You are a self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and professional dedication. You are flexible and can quickly switch gears and tackle nuanced tasks. You understand the day to day tasks and responsibilities of team members and the details and nuances of broader projects so you can best assist the team. Willing to work extended hours as needed.
  • Tech Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and web-based tools.

Compensation: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 annually plus overtime.
