Summary
Our client, a top-ranked AmLaw firm, is seeking a Kitchen Attendant for their New York office. The Kitchen Attendant is responsible for setting up conference room refreshments and meals; delivering food to attorneys as requested; maintaining kitchen supplies and cleanliness.
Schedule: 7am – 3pm (overtime compensated)
Responsibilities
- Maintain a supply of fresh coffee, fresh fruit, cookies, and various food products in assigned pantries.
- Maintain clean and tidy pantries, including equipment, cabinets, refrigerator and the like.
- Set up food for conference room meetings as directed.
- Clean dishes and conference rooms after meetings.
- Set up meals and delivering food to attorneys as directed.
- Collect and clean used mugs and dishes left throughout the office.
- The following applies only to the employees in the “beverage clerk” position:
- Stock and rotate beverages, including water.
- Maintain the basement/stock room.
- Distribute water to employees.
- Supply conference rooms and kitchens with garbage bags.
- Maintain cookie/cracker supplies, fill pantry cabinets when necessary.
Qualifications
- Approximately one year on the job experience in professional food services setting.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
- Excellent customer service skills in order to follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of attorneys and staff.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate by phone or in person and provide information with courtesy and tact.
- Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor.
- Ability to push carts loaded with food and beverages; clear away dishes; load dishwasher; unpack food products including fruit and packages of cookies and place in overhead cabinet.
- Work may require a high level of effort and strain when performing several tasks and meeting several deadlines at one time.
- Work often requires more than 35 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position. Ability to work overtime is essential.
- Ability to work as a team and assist where needed.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $58,000 – $63,000, nonexempt.
