Summary
The Firm, a national litigation boutique, is seeking full-time IT Tech Support for their New York office. The function of the IT Tech Support is to address and resolve issues for all office personnel, including the deployment, administration, and/or support of technology systems essential to the day-to-day operations. Assists with AV support in conference rooms to include light networking such as cabling and/ or patch panel. Travel is required. This position is part of a team directed jointly by the IT Project Manager and the Director of IT.
Target Candidate Requirements
Firm is seeking candidates who meet specific qualifications and experience. The following are key and non-negotiable:
• Am Law 100 firm experience: A minimum of three years’ experience supporting a top Am Law 100 firm or a similarly sophisticated law firm environment required.
• Support for multiple users: Proven experience providing tech support for 75 to 100 users in a dynamic environment.
• Stability in career: Demonstrated career stability, with a history of one or more years of service in each prior organization, highlighting the candidate’s ability to remain committed and grow within a firm.
• Interpersonal skills: The ideal candidate will be self-aware and possess a strong ability to communicate effectively, build rapport, and collaborate with professionals at all levels in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Professional presentation: Consistently demonstrates a polished, composed, and client service-oriented demeanor, reflecting the high standards of a top-tier law firm.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in a clear, concise manner to non-technical users and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Supporting employees with computer issues, troubleshooting PC operating systems and software
• Moving, setting up and shipping computers, peripherals, and printers
• Provide End User Support (Helpdesk) to employees in all offices on software applications used in the firm
• Prepare and support remote trial “Road Show” equipment
• Maintain and track inventory
• Assist with software installations/troubleshooting
• Participate in on-call rotation with other members in IT Department
• Other duties as assigned
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience
• Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience at least one prior job supporting a top Am Law 100 firm or a similarly sophisticated law firm environment required.
• Required Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues with mobile devices such as iPhones/iPads and Androids. Troubleshooting local and network printing, e-mail, connectivity, remote access, and hardware issues.• Preferred Skills: Windows 11 and Office 2016/365 certifications a plus. Experience managing users, hardware repair and setting up and maintaining audio visual system.
• Proficiency: Understanding of the Windows operating system to include making changes to the Windows registry, device drivers, TCP/IP Networking configuration, user personalization, security, networking. Ability to log, assign, prioritize, and escalate issues as appropriate to Firm IT Depertment.
• Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees and all levels of management.
• Organizational Skills: Superior organizational abilities, with the capacity to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects independently.
• Teamwork: Enthusiastic, energetic, and team-oriented attitude, with a focus on fostering a work environment of open communication and trust.
• Self-Starter: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to take initiative and see projects through to completion.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a challenging environment and work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Travel & Overtime: Able to travel to offices as needed. Travel to support trial teams as needed. Ability to work overtime as needed. Able to serve on rotation for on-call schedule.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
Qualifications
• Education: College degree or equivalent technical training/ work experience required.
• Job Stability: Demonstrated history of at least 3 years in at least one of prior organization. In addition, at least 1 year experience at other positions.
Additional Information
• Salary Range: The anticipated base salary for this position is between $80,000 and $95,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Candidates with approximately 3 years of experience will be considered at the lower end of the range, while those with more years’ experience will be considered at the higher end.
• Hybrid Environment: Must be able to work onsite for the duration of the probationary period typically 90 days. With successful completion of probationary period, a hybrid schedule will ensue. The hybrid schedule includes 4 days in office/ 1 day remote. Schedules may vary from week to week to adapt to changing circumstances and to maintain optimal stability and support for the department which may also necessitate additional days in office.
• Fulltime Position: Monday through Friday. 37.5 hours workweeks; 7.5 hours per day.
