Summary
Our client is looking to hire an experienced Docketing Clerk to join the Managing Attorney’s Office.
Responsibilities
• The Docketing Clerk will handle all facets of docketing, including the calendaring of deadlines, in federal and state court cases throughout the country under the direction of the Docketing Coordinator. They must prepare and distribute daily calendar reports and engage in correspondence with attorneys and legal assistants to ensure accuracy of deadlines.
• Additionally, the Docketing Clerk would also be responsible for e-filing assignments in courts throughout the country in accordance with firm and court procedures. They would be part of the overtime rotation to ensure coverage for after-hour filings.
• The Docketing Clerk will also be expected to handle miscellaneous tasks as needed, such as docket research, notarizations, service and filing of documents in hard copy, and coordinating document retrievals via electronic databases or by outside vendor. They will also be expected to assist with other projects as directed.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or requisite experience.
• 2-4 years of docketing and e-filing experience with a strong understanding of relevant state, federal, local, and judges’ rules.
• Experience with docketing California state court cases is a plus. Familiarity with rules-based docketing system, preferably LawToolBox, required.
• Thorough knowledge of NYSCEF and CM/ECF systems needed.
• Possess strong communication skills to interact with attorneys, legal assistants, and court personnel on issues relating to docketing and court procedures.
• Ability to collaborate and function as part of a team that provides high quality service to demanding clients.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
This is a hybrid role which requires in-office attendance in accordance with the schedule set forth by the department. A hybrid schedule is an essential function of this role.
Compensation
$55,000.00-$65,000.00, plus overtime and bonus. Our client offers competitive compensation and benefits packages. The firm considers a number of factors when determining compensation, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, levels of experience, competency levels and other relevant skills and qualifications.
