Summary
A leading national law firm is seeking a Docket Specialist to join its centralized docketing team. This role supports attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring the accurate and timely management of litigation deadlines and docket entries.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and interpret pleadings, court orders, notices, and other legal documents to identify and calculate critical deadlines in accordance with applicable court rules, statutes, local procedures, and firm docketing protocols
- Research and interpret Federal, State, and Local rules and procedures across multiple jurisdictions
- Enter, update, and maintain deadlines and other critical dates in the firm’s centralized docketing system
- Perform quality-control reviews of docket entries and deadline calculations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm procedures
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff on all aspects of docketing and processes in a timely and professional manner
- Assist docketing team members as backup and provide additional support as needed
- Actively interact and collaborate with team members to deliver services at the highest and most sustainable level of quality and professionalism
- Effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Assume additional duties and/or responsibilities as requested
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of docketing, relevant legal support, or equivalent experience in a law firm or legal services environment required
- Experience with Aderant CompuLaw or other docketing systems preferred
- College degree and/or paralegal certification (or equivalent experience) preferred
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid initiative and independent judgment skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize work efficiently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility for workload
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills; positive and proactive manner; strong work ethic
- E-filing experience and familiarity with PACER and Electronic Court Filings (ECF)
- Knowledge and understanding of the litigation process
Compensation: $75,000.00-$90,000.00, plus bonus
