Summary
Premier, boutique, litigation, law firm is seeking a Docket Clerk with substantial experience in electronic court filings and litigation calendaring. This position plays a key role in ensuring that court deadlines are met and filings are handled accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable under pressure, and familiar with filing procedures in federal and state courts.

The Docket Clerk will support the litigation calendar, process after-hours filings, and assist with maintaining internal docketing systems. This role reports directly to the Managing Attorney and requires strong knowledge of court rules, excellent organizational skills, and comfort working independently in high-stakes environments. 

Core Responsibilities

  • File documents electronically in federal and state courts, including after business hours
  • Review and docket court orders, notices, and other documents in accordance with procedural rules
  • Maintain and update internal docketing systems and litigation calendars
  • Monitor upcoming deadlines and ensure timely reminders are provided to attorneys and case teams
  • Provide assistance and guidance on filing procedures and calendaring rules
  • Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff to troubleshoot issues and ensure accuracy
  • Maintain familiarity with applicable court rules, including local and electronic filing protocols
  • Communicate effectively and clearly with internal stakeholders under time-sensitive conditions
  • Assist with onboarding of new matters and data entry into docketing software
  • Prepare reports and audit calendar entries as needed 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a law firm docketing or managing clerk’s office
  • Proficiency in electronic filing systems including ECF, NYSCEF, and PACER
  • Familiarity with federal and New York state court rules and procedures
  • Experience using docketing and calendaring systems (e.g., CompuLaw, PacerPro, CourtAlert)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Availability for occasional later filings or weekend coverage may be required 

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly compensation commensurate with experience
  • Overtime pay for hours worked beyond 35 per week

  • Required in-office presence four days per week 

Compensation: $80,000.00-$95,000.00, plus overtime and bonus.
