Client Reporting/Financial Analyst

Summary
The Client Reporting Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting firm leadership and partners by gathering, analyzing, and presenting financial information that drives decision-making and enhances client relationships. This role will deliver actionable insights on firm performance, client profitability, and market trends, helping the Firm achieve its strategic and financial goals. The position is based in Roseland, NJ, with a hybrid work schedule.
Requirements
- Enter, maintain, and validate financial data in the Firm’s reporting/financial systems to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Prepare executive-level financial reports and presentations, including Board packages, partner utilization metrics, and practice group analyses.
- Support the firm’s participation in quarterly and annual financial surveys ensuring accurate and timely responses.
- Provide daily and monthly reporting on client, matter, and firm performance, including billing, payments, realization, and rate analysis.
- Support the Firm’s pricing and alternative fee arrangement initiatives by modeling client/matter budgets and profitability scenarios.
- Collaborate with partners to deliver client-facing reports that increase transparency and strengthen client relationships.
- Analyze, manage, and maintain data and models related to attorney compensation; ensure data integrity across various sources and help facilitate the attorney salary and bonus review process.
- Maintain and monitor client/matter budget alerts to ensure compliance with Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFA’s) and effective project tracking.
- Contribute to process improvements in reporting, planning, and budgeting through automation and system enhancements.
- Work on ad hoc financial projects aimed at improving profitability and cash flow. Other duties and projects as needed.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- 1-5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong skills in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI or other BI tools a plus.
- Familiarity with Aderant or other legal financial systems preferred.
- High attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in data entry and data management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to treat sensitive/confidential information with appropriate discretion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent experience.
For candidates meeting the requirements, the expected base salary is $100,000.00-$110,000.00, plus bonus. The range provided is the salary that the firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
