Business Development Manager-M&A

Summary

The Business Development Manager works closely with the M&A group to develop and sustain loyal client base for increased work, revenues, and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and implements strategic business development plans for the practice and at an individual level.
  • Anticipates, and identifies opportunities for promoting and cross selling.
  • Conducts research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships, expand the client base, and increase external and internal visibility.
  • Provides thought leadership and executes on targeted marketing methods including social media strategies, CLE seminars, organizational affiliations, and initiatives.
  • Develops new content, customized pitches and responses to all types of RFP/RFI questionnaires, and marketing materials.
  • Identifies strategies to best position the firm and create original, client-focused proposals.
  • Ensures meticulous execution of all projects and work, with data and content consistently accurate and well presented.
  • Attains synergies for all marketing programs through effective collaboration.
  • Ensures client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • Five or more years of professional services business development and/or marketing experience; law firm experience highly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of M&A/transactional practices, with direct work experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of core marketing principles including driving innovative tools and programs, competitive intelligence, market research, and pitch and RFP responses.
  • High degree of motivation, with driving sense of responsibility, accountability, and responsiveness.
  • Excellent writing skills. Ability to focus written materials to ensure impact on general business, legal, and niche populations.
  • Strong business acumen: the ability to recognize marketing and business development opportunities and to pursue them strategically.
  • Excellent attention to detail in all areas, including writing, copy editing, researching, and managing data.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions, including ability to draw clear conclusions from a diverse collection of data.
  • Talent for creating client satisfaction; demonstrated ability to focus on the client value in all work.

Compensation

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.

San Francisco, Palo Alto salary range: $120,000.00-$165,000.00, plus bonus

Los Angeles, San Diego salary range: $115,000.00-$155,00.00, plus bonus
