Business Development and Marketing Coordinator

Job Summary

Premier, global law firm is seeking a Business Development and Marketing Coordinator for their NY office.  The position reports to the New York Business Development and Marketing Manager.

Qualifications

The principal responsibilities and duties of the position are to support the NY Business Development and Marketing Manager in the following areas:

  • Assist with the execution and administration of office marketing programs and projects.
  • Prepare marketing materials for current and prospective clients, including office and practice group descriptions, proposals, PowerPoint presentations, update attorney biographies, etc.
  • Conduct and coordinate research on identified new business targets.
  • Coordinate and implement business development training for associates for the New York office.
  • Coordinate sponsorship of community and business events.
  • Maintain various department databases: NY Proposal log, board affiliations, events calendar, new attorney check list.
  • Handle InterAction updates.
  • Write and produce a monthly marketing newsletter for New York.
  • Plan, provide direction and support for events, conference sponsorships, regional client entertainment and receptions, including invitation list development and invitation mailing, tracking RSVPs, organizing registration, preparing name tags, greeting attendees upon arrival, being accessible to address guests’ needs, preparing materials, reserving necessary equipment and facilities.
  • Research regional market and national industry trends in order to identify client development opportunities and coordinate development of marketing literature and client presentations.

Education/Experience

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, proactive with a high energy level, and poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts are essential.  The successful candidate will have the ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and complete tasks under time pressure when necessary.  Candidate must have the flexibility and creativity to respond productively to individualized needs of attorneys, work well with staff and react to difficult situations appropriately.  Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are important, and knowledge of InterAction is a plus.

College degree required.   Experience in a professional services or law firm environment desired.
