Audit Letter Assistant

Summary

Firm is seeking an Audit Letter Assistant to join the Risk & Compliance team. Under the direction of the Audit Letter Supervisor, the Assistant will work with audit letter analysts to respond to and monitor audit letter requests from the firm’s clients.  The Assistant will support the process and the Audit Letter Analyst team to ensure all requests are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with ABA guidelines and accordance with firm policies. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Position Responsibilities

Assist Audit Letter Analysts with the coordination, organizing and tracking of incoming audit letter requests to ensure all are processed timely and in accordance with ABA guidelines and firm policies and procedures Review client files for prior responses and/or engagement letters for audit checklist review Track attorney responses and disclosures Assist with the drafting of audit letter responses for year-end letters and/or update letters for attorney review Assemble necessary documentation supporting audit letter responses Work closely with audit letter analysts and others as needed to ensure responses satisfy firm policies, ABA guidelines, and any other applicable requirements Coordinate delivery of response to auditors All other duties as assigned or required.

Skills and Experience

Required

  • After orientation at the Firm, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Available to work overtime, as required
  • 1+ years direct experience working in a corporate legal environment (e.g., performing due diligence, research, or compliance duties)

Preferred                                                                                                           

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior experience as a legal secretary, case assistant or paralegal
  • Experience working in a law firm

*The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $26.50 – $35.50 ($55,120.00 – $73,840.00 annually, plus overtime and bonus). Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
