Accounts Payable Clerk

Summary
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing the firm’s bills and invoices, ensuring accurate payment to vendors and maintaining financial records.

Responsibilities
• Entering and verifying invoices into 3E.
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper authorization; assign correct GL codes. Familiarity with legal expense categories (e.g., court filing fees, expert witness fees, legal research subscriptions).
• Communicating with clients regarding payments or discrepancies.
• Assisting in the preparation of wire transfers and electronic payments.
• Match AP entries with billable client expenses, ensuring costs are billed back to clients properly.
• Maintaining accurate and organized financial records.
• Assisting with reconciling statements and resolving account discrepancies.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, preferably within a law firm.
• Familiarity with legal accounting software (e.g., 3E, Elite, Aderant, ProLaw).
• Detail-oriented, especially for matching costs to client matters.
• Good communication for liaising with attorneys and vendors.

Salary: $50,000.00-$65,000.00, plus overtime and bonus.

The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
