Summary
Premier, publicly traded insurance, reinsurance and mortgage insurance finance company are seeking a self-motivated lawyer to join their team in their White Plains, NY or Raleigh and Greensboro, NC offices. This position is best suited for an individual with the ability to lead a variety of tasks and to support executive-level employees.
Job Responsibilities
- Corporate law, HR and SEC filings responsibilities for multinational insurance/reinsurance organization
- Manage the equity compensation plans
- Lead the Section 16 Filings process
- Oversee additional retirement and benefit plans
- Proxy statement and annual meeting process
- Managing tax advice relating to employment, compensation, retirement and benefit plans
- Support relating privacy issues relating to equity compensation plans and HR
Required Skills/Experience
- 4-5 years of hands-on experience in a law firm or in-house role with public companies
- Strong working knowledge of Equity Compensation, HR and General corporate housekeeping matters and fundamental corporate experience reviewing contracts, issue spotting, etc.
- Solid legal analysis and writing skills
Desired Skills/Experience
- Familiarity with public companies
- General corporate law fundamentals (basic contracts review) and experience in preparing basic corporate documents (minutes, agendas, etc.)
- Team player and ability to pivot easily between topics and tasks
- Overall experience and interest in HR compensation and equity compensation issues
- Preferred experience (but not mandatory) with multi-national entities
- Ability to work with senior management and directors on complex issues relating to equity compensation and retirement plans, daily management of Section 16 filings and all equity compensation issues
Education
- Completion of 4-year degree
- JD from accredited law school
