Communication and PR Manager-Temp

Premier, global, law firm has an opening for a Temp Communication and PR Manager in their New York office.  The Temp Communication and PR Manager creates and executes communications, PR and recognitions strategies firmwide. The role focuses on creating holistic communication plans (including PR and recognitions) to elevate the firm’s reputation.

In this capacity, the Temp Communication and PR Manager will:

  • Strategize and implement a communication strategy for key Litigation and Employment practices;
  • Write submissions, coordinate logistics and oversee consultants for Litigation and Employment submissions;
  • Coordinate with external directories consultant for Legal 500 United States and Chambers USA;
  • Track key work highlights;
  • Create compelling descriptions of our work for reporters, marketing materials and submissions;
  • Write press releases, pitches, media preparation documents to promote the Firm;
  • Cultivate media opportunities and relationships with reporters, editors and researchers;
  • Maintain communications calendar, tracking and analysis of results;
  • Lead and execute promotion plans to maximize visibility of recognitions internally and externally;
  • Collaborate in the strategic development, design and production of various printed and electronic communications materials;
  • Work overtime as required; and
  • Handle additional Communications, Public Relations and Media and Recognitions projects as required. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent (required);
  • At least 10 years of writing experience;
  • At least 3 years of professional services or law firm experience (preferred);
  • Advanced proficiency in English language, punctuation, spelling, grammar and writing skills;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Advanced proficiency in internet research and resources (Lexis Nexis, MediaMap);
  • Advanced proficiency in project management;
  • Advanced knowledge of communications principles, procedures and concepts;
  • Advanced knowledge of legal and professional services marketing, including developments, trends, analysis, technologies and literature;
  • Advanced knowledge of the relevant surveys, rankings, directories;
  • Advanced knowledge of PR, branding and the development of internal and external communications initiatives and tools; and
  • Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts.
