Senior In-house Corporate Paralegal, Legal Services

The Opportunity

A global investment firm which writes insurance, reinsurance and mortgage insurance on a worldwide basis, with a focus on specialty lines, the segment of the insurance industry where the more difficult and unusual risks are written is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to join their legal team. Ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience working in a law firm and/or a legal department of an insurance company or other financial services organization. The Senior Paralegal will have the opportunity to handle regulatory filings, corporate board work and general administration.  

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with corporate entity licensing filing and renewals
• Perform legal research of statutes and regulations and provide summaries
• Draft and prepare contracts and agreements and other legal documents
• Provide assistance to all operating groups within the Company’s organizational structure
• Prepare SEC filing for the parent company and other regulatory filings for licensed entities
• Assist with regulatory and compliance matters
• Handle quarterly, annual and ad hoc Board work

Required Skills/Experience

• 5+ years’ experience working on regulatory matters
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

• Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills as well as the ability to multitask
• Excellent communication, organization and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization
• In-house experience is beneficial
• Insurance/Reinsurance industry experience is beneficial

Education

Four-year College Degree is required; Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
