Business Development Coordinator (Americas)

Report to Associate Director of Business Development (sits in NY)
Position Summary
The Business Development Coordinator will support the Americas Business Development team on a variety of marketing and business development projects related to multiple practice areas including those in Disputes, Competition, Banking, Capital Markets, Project Finance, Asset Finance, M&A, Corporate and Private Equity – on a regional and sometimes global basis – and will report to a senior member of the Americas BD team.
Responsibilities
Duties and Accountabilities
- Maintain marketing collateral (including brochures, experience statements, presentations, pitches, clients lists, case studies, rankings, website content, intranet practice pages and lawyer biographies) and ensure these materials are always up-to-date, well-written, contain compelling and consistent messages about the practices and incorporate themes from the Firm’s messaging guide.
- Maintain database of new and closed matters to ensure they are correctly profiled and entered into the Firm’s matter profile system.
- Support a variety of practice-related submissions (e.g. Chambers, Legal 500) and league tables. This includes tracking deadlines, submitting materials to publications and scheduling interviews.
- Support practice-related proposals and pitches. This includes prep work (company research, competitive intelligence etc.), preparing materials (RFP responses, proposals, placemats, capability statements) and following post-pitch protocol (tracking and reporting).
- Support business development activities through significant use of client relationship management and other proprietary software by ensuring proper tracking of client and other activities and a regular flow of information about business development opportunities.
- Research – practice-related industry events, sponsorships and speaking opportunities, evaluate same for business development value and assist with attendant logistics.
- Coordinate the production and distribution of client alerts, newsletters, and other Firm publications working with the Firm’s creative services and marketing technology teams.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
Education/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience in a professional services firm a would be an advantage.
