Responsibilities
- Performing conflict searches for new clients, matters and lateral attorney hires; distributing relevant search results regarding same.
- Assisting attorneys and secretaries with conflicts and new client/matter opening procedures.
- Processing of requests in new client/matter workflow application.
- Ensuring engagement letter, conflict waiver and opposing counsel requirements are met.
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the Firm’s names database.
- Maintaining familial relationships, conflict screens and governmental appointments/ board positions/outside business interests’ databases.
- Erecting ethical walls/conflict screen reports.
- Determining proper recipient of unidentified mail.
Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- 2 – 3 years of law firm conflicts and new business intake experience.
- Knowledge of automated conflicts software (preferably Intapp Open) and web-based search engines.
- Familiarity with law firm time and billing systems (preferably Aderant).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with names of major companies, financial institutions and law firms, and aliases of same.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal client base, always upholding a professional demeanor and demonstrating an attitude of cooperation.
- Ability to work overtime when needed, often without advanced notice.
- Ability to treat sensitive/confidential information with appropriate discretion.
- Maintain a reliable attendance record. Arrive to work in a timely manner and observe prescribed work break and meal periods.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all firm policies and procedures.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $60,000.00-$75,000.00, non-exempt. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
