Summary

The Legal Project Management “LPM” Analyst assists Senior LPMs in day-to-day operational tasks based on client and partner demands and needs.  The Analyst assists in the review, analysis and reporting back to managers, as well as directly to partners where appropriate.  This individual develops ad hoc reports and analysis based on the needs of the team, including some levels of data entry for budgets or categorization for specific client needs.  The Analyst develops single-matter budgets for clients and partners and owns the tracking of matter budget progress.

Responsibilities

  • Manage bespoke client reports in collaboration with Budget & Reporting Analyst to identify opportunities for reporting automation and modifications to existing automated reports.
  • Support Senior LPMs with day-to-day activities where needed.
  • Assist in review of current firm legal processes and drafting of process proposals to partners concerning greater efficiencies in legal service delivery
  • Pull data on analog matters and analyze by date/task code/etc.; set up budget templates; create a database of matter analysis to be re-used for future matters and projects.
  • Build and periodically update custom client budget versus actual reports.
  • Provide partners with reminders of relevant client deadlines (i.e., monthly accruals and forecast updates)
  • Set up budget templates for various matter types; analyze analogs; track budgets and analogs as they are created in the event that the work can be employed on future matters.
  • Clean up, organize and catalog scope documents so that information can be re-used.
  • Set up reporting on new matters; field ad hoc reporting requests from partners.
  • Update LPM dashboards and provide regular updates to Senior LPMs on the status of matter budgets

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years law firm litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with SharePoint or similar technology.
  • Displays strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including in the area of budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Project management certification or training preferred.

Compensation

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.

New York, San Francisco, Palo Alto salary range: $80,000 to $118,000

Los Angeles, San Diego salary range: $74,000 to $111,000

Denver salary range: $69,000 to $103,000
