Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as an advisor to assigned professional business groups and leaders, strategically implementing HR solutions in support of business deliverables and value creation through its people. The HRBP will coach, engage and support business leaders on development and design, succession planning, performance management and employee relations. This position will partner across HR functions to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the firm’s objectives. This position can be based in any of our U.S. office locations.
Responsibilities
- Partner with assigned groups and leaders to fully understand business priorities, objectives and needs, identifying actionable recommendations and solutions to challenges.
- Consult with leaders to define and re-define business goals/targets and forecast needs and resources.
- Ensure the alignment of business objectives with people and engagement strategies.
- Support the design and development of business groups, collaboratively working with leaders to organize teams to produce cost-effective and efficient work.
- Develop and analyze key metrics/data to shape HR strategies and influence business objectives.
- Provide strategic insight and guidance to managers on the HR implications of business decisions.
- Evaluate and identify new and existing workforce plans and recruitment strategies to address staffing needs and utilization within assigned business groups.
- Train and coach leaders on manager effectiveness, recommending resources and tools to mentor employees on job effectiveness and promote career development.
- Proactively engage and coach managers on identifying and escalating HR-related issues, providing guidance on sensitive performance matters.
- Collectively work with leaders to identify top talent in their departments, assess critical positions and establish areas of improvement to effectively implement workforce and succession planning.
- Collaborate with the Director of Employee Relations to work with department leaders on identifying and managing employee relations issues as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of human resource law, principles and best practices that relate to employee relations and performance management.
- Solid interpersonal skills and strong customer service ethic with the ability to interact well with internal stakeholders across all levels.
- Strategic and critical thinker with excellent business judgement and outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Proven success in building relationships and working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience consulting and coaching managers at different levels of experience.
- Functional HR expertise in the following areas: employee and manager coaching, employee relations, learning and development, employee engagement, talent management and compensation and recognition.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ability to exercise good judgement.
- Exceptional process implementation and project management skills.
- Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to effectively present HR-related topics to various audiences.
- SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
- Reporting to the Director of Staff Recruiting, HR Business Partner, the ideal candidate will have 5+ years of HR related experience. Prior law firm or professional services experience preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related field required.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $150,000.00-$175,000.00, based on experience and location
