Paralegal (Blue Sky/FISAP)

Summary

A premier, global, law firm’s Atlanta, Charlotte, or Washington, D.C. office is seeking an experienced transactional Paralegal to work in their Financial Services & Products practice group. This Paralegal will assist attorneys in all offices by maintaining current REITs and renewals, assist in the preparation of IPO’s, and actively maintain all steps of the process.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage renewals of multi-state REITs. Work directly with attorneys and clients to gather and process documents, respond to examiners, and ensure the ongoing maintenance of renewal comments and state follow-up.
  • Assist with REIT IPO’s, Follow-Ons (FPO’s), and submitting new REIT applications for a variety of states.
  • Prepare DRIP (Divided Reinvestment Plan) renewal submissions for clients on a multi-state scale.
  • Create and maintain initial and renewal submissions of REG D Filings for the SEC and various states. Prepare and submit entity formations.
  • Prepare and submit initial and final registrations and annual renewals for charitable promotions of clients.
  • Handle registration and licensing renewals and filing requests for appraisal management companies.
  • Provide backup assistance for the Paralegals in the FISAP group and the Firm.
  • Proofread and edit legal documents.
  • Operate standard office equipment such as photocopiers, fax machines and personal computers.
  • Maintain current and accurate daily time record.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Ability to work overtime and irregular hours as dictated by the Firm and client needs.

Qualifications

  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.

  • Work may require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; may often require irregular hours.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of four (4) years of prior paralegal experience in a FISAP practice group
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certificate are required for consideration

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $75,000.00-$130,000.00, dependent on experience and location
