Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Specialist

Summary

Reporting to the firm’s Director of DEI, the DEI Specialist will assist in implementing and advancing the firm’s global DEI strategy. The DEI Specialist will be responsible for proactively developing actionable project plans and collaborating with others to execute related programs, events, trainings, and other firm initiatives to foster an inclusive workplace at the Firm. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong data analytic skills, excellent written and communication skills. The DEI Specialist will have substantial direct contact/communication with lawyers and business professionals alike, and will be the DEI Team’s primary administrative support alongside an executive assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively assist in the planning and implementation of all aspects of the DEI Team’s programs, workshops and events;
  • Work closely with the Director of DEI, members of the HR and IT departments on the collection, analysis and benchmarking of internal diversity demographic data, industry trends, and other related information, including the creation of quarterly reports;
  • Provide logistical support to the firm’s lawyer affinity groups;
  • Assist in tracking and reporting expenses related the DEI budget;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external diversity-related partner organizations and internal stakeholders;
  • Coordinate with HR to accurately compile and organize often confidential data for reporting to diversity-related industry and client surveys;
  • Create, update and maintain DEI-related internal and external communications and marketing materials, including the diversity-related content displayed on the Firm website and DEI events;
  • Coordinate activities and provide logistical support for the firm’s affinity-related resource groups;
  • Maintain a working knowledge of diversity-related current events, legal industry concerns, legislation, and best practices; and
  • Additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must be team-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently, and possess the following characteristics:

  • Growing knowledge and genuine passion for learning about legal industry diversity, equity and inclusion issues;
  • Ability to engage effectively with all levels of seniority throughout the organization;
  • Very strong analytical, oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple projects, often with competing deadlines, and handle confidential information with a high level of discretion;
  • Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office platforms including PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Forms; and
  • Demonstrates a detail-oriented, proactive approach and strong client-service orientation in a fast-moving work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • A minimum of 2 years closely related experience and/or project management experience at a law firm, government agency, or professional services organization required.

 

 

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $75,000.00-$90,000.00, dependent on experience and location
