Summary
One of the nation’s largest law firms, providing a wide variety of legal services to clients throughout the United States and around the world from offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Boston, Boca Raton, New Orleans, Paris, London, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong and Beijing seeks a Senior Real Estate Paralegal to assist the lawyers in all aspects of the department’s commercial real estate practice.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, loans, refinancings, joint ventures, sales and leasing)
- Organize and review due diligence documents, including contracts, leases and financing materials
- Analyze title materials, surveys, and zoning materials including abstracting title documents, covenants, restrictions, easements, etc., and preparing related memoranda
- Assist with closings including controlling all documents, preparing closing checklists, coordinating signature pages and closing binders
- Research, draft and file UCC financing statements
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including maintenance of real estate form files and general duties
- Supervise junior paralegals as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program
- A minimum of five years of commercial real estate paralegal experience at an AmLaw 100 law firm or other organization with similar training and experience
- Strong background in the title and survey review, objection and cure process
- Experience with and knowledge of real estate lending
- High degree of comfort interacting with multiple parties including partners, clients, lenders, title companies, etc.
- Ability to research, process and communicate large amounts of complex data
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex and fast paced-environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills and keen attention to details
- Ability to quickly and proactively identify and analyze problems, develop solutions and deliver results
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimum amount of supervision
- Available to work considerable overtime when required, including evenings and weekends
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as the ability to learn new software and applications
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $125,000.00-$150,000.00, dependent on experience
