Litigation Paralegal

Summary
The Litigation paralegal will manage all aspects of large scale, complex litigation. The position will require overtime.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administratively manage all phases of a litigation case including litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial and appellate procedures
- Manage electronic and hard copy documents collections
- Manage and manipulate data in litigation support software offerings
- Legal and factual cite checking including editing a brief to Blue Book standards;
- Execute all activities with a thorough understanding of rules of procedure for various federal and state jurisdictions
- Execute various research projects within Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and internet search engines
- Coordinate with the Docket Dept. to effectively execute docket and court filing activities using ECF filing procedures
- Assist with witness preparation
- Assist with arbitration, mediation and trial preparation
- Attend and assist at trials and arbitrations
- Effectively delegate appropriate assignments to project assistants and temporary staff;
- Prioritize and manage multiple assignments with tight deadlines;
- Any other projects as assigned by an attorney or the Paralegal Manage

Education and/or Experience
Required:
- BA/BS with strong academic credentials.
- Four years of litigation and trial experience at a medium or large law firm.
- Proficient in the use of Relativity, Case Notebook and other litigation support software.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Professional.
Preferred:
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients, partners, associates, paralegals and all staff members.
