Bankruptcy and Restructuring Paralegal

Premier, global, law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy and Restructuring Paralegal with 3 to 5 years of experience working in a law firm environment supporting attorneys in all phases of the bankruptcy process representing debtor and creditors in complex business/corporate Chapter 11 proceedings, as opposed to the consumer cases.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in all aspects of the Chapter 11 reorganization process; preparing Petitions, Schedules, Statement of Affairs, Proofs of Claim, Statements of Claim, document templates, correspondence, retention applications, fee applications, and budget reconciliations using Excel.  Additional responsibilities include analyzing claims, objections and related documentation; cite checking and Bluebooking legal briefs and memoranda; reviewing and monitoring docket reports using ECF/PACER and the preparation, filing and serving of documents with Bankruptcy, Federal, and State Courts through CM/ECF and other electronic filing systems. Applicants are required to have a BA/BS degree with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat, be familiar with rules of procedure and local rules of the Bankruptcy, Federal and State Courts; possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and track extensive details, have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with personnel and to handle confidential information sensitively and discreetly.  Overtime, including weekends, will be required, occasionally on short notice.
