Senior Coordinator, Institutional Intelligence and Recognitions

Summary

We have an opening in our New York office for a Senior Coordinator, Institutional Intelligence and Recognitions. The Senior Coordinator, Institutional Intelligence and Recognitions helps to identify, collect, organize, and communicate information about the work of the Firm across multiple practices and industry groups. This information is collected for its use in developing submissions for awards and directories, as well as in improving the speed and quality of responsive requests for proposals (RFPs). This role supports the broader mission of the Firm’s Communications & Public Relations Team and the Business Development Department.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the Firm’s broader recognitions strategy as it relates to award and directory submissions;
  • Working with the Corporate Communications and Recognitions Supervisor, develop and implement a strategy for identifying, collecting, organizing, and communicating information about the work of the Firm, its clients, lawyers, and other key aspects of leading practices and industry sectors across the Firm;
  • Implement a process for the collection of timely updates of matter descriptions to ensure record-keeping (e.g., on a quarterly or monthly basis, as appropriate);
  • Ensure descriptions are being timely added to the Firm’s internal databases (manually entering information, as necessary);
  • Write and edit descriptions of key matters and practice strengths to be reviewed by lawyers and colleagues;
  • Coordinate with lawyers, PR & Communications, Business Development, Knowledge Management, Talent, and other teams across the Firm to effectively leverage information and ensure the consistency of messaging about the Firm’s work across multiple channels;
  • Support research and analysis on results pertaining to specific matters and submissions;
  • Conduct research and liaise with team members and lawyers to gather information on key matters;
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective gathering of information;
  • Work overtime as required, in particular as pressing submissions deadlines approach;
  • Provide a high level of customer service to client and practice teams; and
  • Handle additional related projects within the Business Development Department or Firm, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree;
  • At least 5 years of researching, writing, journalism, communications or other related experience (preferred);
  • At least 3 years of experience in a professional services or legal environment (preferred);
  • Experience, understanding, or interest in intellectual property, white collar, or transactional law a plus;
  • Advanced knowledge of the needs and expectations of law firm operations and corporate legal clients in order to function at a strategic level;
  • Proficiency in online research and internet resources (Lexis-Nexis and equivalents);
  • Advanced proficiency in English language usage, including punctuation, spelling, grammar and writing skills;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; and
  • Advanced knowledge of legal concepts.
