Summary
Premier, boutique, litigation law firm is seeking a creative, organized and intellectually curious teammate to join a highly collaborative Marketing team, playing a critical role in a very different kind of law firm. Because of our highly distinctive business model and unique global footprint, members of Firm’s Marketing and Strategy teams have opportunities to make an outsized impact, including an openness and eagerness for new ideas; day-to-day collaboration with company leadership; and exposure to unique and innovative litigation issues, many of which are front-page news.
The Marketing Specialist, Events will be responsible for planning and executing significant digital and in-person marketing initiatives that support the firm’s strategic goals, including firm hosted events, publicly facing webinars and internal trainings. You will thrive if you are both:
- A self-starter with excellent project management and organization skills who knows and loves the details that go into making large-scale projects like events run smoothly; and
- Intellectually curious, always aiming to understand and influence the “why” behind projects you’re involved in and ensuring those projects achieved the desired goals.
Specifically, this person will:
- Project manage high-priority marketing campaigns, digital and physical, including clearly defining goals, developing clear project plans and road maps, assigning roles and responsibilities among cross-functional teams, actively managing and communicating around issues as they arise, and establishing tracking success
- Plan, manage and execute all aspects of internal and external hosted events, including partner meetings, product group summits, webinars and other Strategy department-related events
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for lawyers to attend externally-hosted events (e.g., conferences)
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the Events function, including through devising and refining new processes where needed
Firm Events
Industry Events & Conferences
- Identify opportunities for lawyers to attend externally hosted events, evaluating the worth of these based on firm commercial priorities
- Identify and build relationships with key conference producers and event organizers
- Coordinate lawyer attendance at external events, including liaising directly with lawyers before, during and after events
- Communicate independently with vendors on behalf of the firm
Firm Hosted Events
- Identify hosted event ideas and concepts
- Identify event goals with key stakeholders to ensure events align with firm objectives
- Create and manage timelines and provide regular updates to event team on deadlines and deliverables to ensure all events run smoothly
- Coordinate all pre, during and post logistics for in-person and digital events, including scheduling, invitations, sourcing venues, and onsite management
- Conduct post-event debrief meetings and track follow up items
- Provide support for other events as needed by the Strategy team
Marketing Project Management
- Project manage various marketing campaigns, digital and physical
- Project manage the firm’s annual holiday mailing including researching gifts, managing lawyer lists, gift assembly and fulfilment
- Support the planning and execution of firm town halls
- Assist with other marketing tasks as needed
Requirements
- 4-6 years’ experience in a marketing role with project management responsibilities (e.g., event planning, research or marketing operations)
- Strong project management and organization skills
- Excellent time management skills with ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
- Proactively communicates to facilitate workflow, teamwork and efficiency
- Thrives in a visible role and works effectively with team members, colleagues and firm stakeholders
- Independent worker who takes initiative to complete tasks and drive projects
- Produces high quality work; is efficient, accurate and has good attention to detail
- Consistently strives to improve performance; seeks opportunities to develop professionally and expand job knowledge
