Senior Human Resources Generalist

Summary
Premier, global, law firm is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist who will be resident in their New York office. This position will be responsible for providing a full range, high-quality Human Resources support to both the administrative staff and lawyers in both the NY & Boston offices, and will work with a Human Resources Coordinator and report to the Director of Human Resources.

Specific responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: staff and legal recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, coordination of the performance evaluation process, interpretation of Firm and HR policies and procedures, compliance, benefits/insurance and leave of absence administration, new hire orientation, coordination of various projects, programs and events, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree preferably in a related field and a minimum of 8-10 years of Human Resources experience including 5 years as a generalist, preferably within legal or a professional services environment. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills (including grammar), strong interpersonal skills and the ability to balance competing demands. Candidates should also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with all levels of management and staff.  Strong technical skills (Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft) are a must.
