Business Development Senior Coordinator/Specialist

Summary
The Business Development Senior Coordinator/Specialist will support the Business Development and Marketing Department as well as practices and lawyers. This position will report to the Director of Business Development and will be based in the firm’s Roseland, New Jersey office with occasional travel to the New York, New York office.
Requirements
- Working closely with business development managers and lead lawyers on practice and individual business plans and a variety of strategic business development projects;
- Significant support for practices related RFPs and pitches. Includes prep work (conflicts checks, company research), preparing pitch materials and follow-up, such as updating a pitch tracking report, internal newsletter and maintaining and updating master marketing materials;
- Staying abreast of practice related industry events, sponsorships and speaking opportunities. Assisting with evaluating each for business development value, implementing those that support business development practice goals, tracking success and working with partners on follow-up initiatives and developing and maintaining strong relationships with key industry organizations, conference sponsors and organizers;
- Maintaining an accurate deal/matter tracking spreadsheet.
- Coordinating with event team to plan and effectuate practice group events and assist in preparation of materials for same;
- Significant support working with practice team group leaders on relevant ranking submissions for key legal directories (e.g., Chambers);
- Assisting with research and analysis of target clients for pitch/client meeting preparations;
- Significant support creating and maintaining practice group marketing materials, including representative transactions/representations, client and reference lists and presentations, and tracking and reporting on business development activities via Interaction and other tools;
- Assisting with identifying media initiatives to increase the profile of the practice group and individual partners. Includes working with PR agency for placement opportunities and handling post press follow-up, such as leveraging placements in relevant marketing materials, website, bios and internal newsletters;
- Working with lawyers to identify and prepare client alerts and overseeing distribution;
- Providing support for social media initiatives for the practice group and lawyers;
- Assisting with bio updates – website and LinkedIn;
- Keeping all website content for designated practices and lawyers up to date;
- Assisting with creating and tracking practice group business development budgets.
Additional Responsibilities
Travel to New York, New York office for meetings and events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS), preferably in a marketing-related field.
- Marketing/business development background preferred; law firm experience a plus.
- Results-oriented.

- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work proactively and independently in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively manage time and multiple tight deadlines.

- Good systems and database skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM applications.
