Summary
The Senior IP/Entertainment Paralegal is responsible for assisting the IP group and Entertainment department with a variety of matters, including: assisting the IP and Entertainment transactional attorneys in connection with mergers, acquisitions, financing and licensing matters and assisting the Entertainment attorneys in connection with a range of matters across all the various entertainment industries. The candidate must be detail-oriented, organized and able to work on a variety of different matters in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct targeted IP searches and generate reports for trademarks, patents, copyrights, and domain names
- Prepare IP filings with the PTO and the CRO (including applications and chain of title filings)
- Maintain the Firm’s trademark docket
- Maintain Active Client and Deal lists for internal reporting
- Coordinate relevant training sessions with outside vendors
Requirements
- 7 – 10 years of total paralegal experience with an additional 3 – 4 years of experience specifically in IP/ Entertainment
- Ability to prioritize and handle competing demands and deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
- Identify and resolve or escalate issues in a timely manner
- Ability to work on a variety of different projects simultaneously while delivering consistent, quality work product
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Required: familiarity with Excel
- Preferred: Trademark and/or patent prosecution experience; familiarity with the PTO and Copyright Office databases and filing systems, Clarivate/SAEGIS, Derwent, WestLaw, and Lexis
