Talent Development Coordinator

The Talent Development Department of a premier, global, law firm has an opening for a Talent Development Coordinator in the New York office.  The Talent Development Coordinator plays an important role in the recruiting of the associates and summer associates in the New York office as well as the coordination the summer associate program in the New York office.  The Coordinator also handles event planning and coordination for associate social and integration events and for a variety of recruiting functions organized by the Talent Development team.  Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with orientation, onboarding and integration of all new and lateral associates, staff attorneys, and summer associates in the NY office.
  • Processing and managing pre-employment requirements (references, conflict checks, offer letters, etc.)
  • Coordinating paperwork for new and lateral associate and staff attorney hires (arrival notices, orientation schedules, orientation packets, personnel files, personnel authorization forms).
  • Supporting the annual and mid-cycle associate and staff attorney evaluation and feedback process.
  • Processing and reviewing associate and summer associate applications.
  • Coordinating the on-campus and callback interview process.
  • Updating and maintaining the electronic summer associate assignment and evaluation system.
  • Producing and distributing attorney recruiting reports, candidate interview information and summer associate assignment evaluation information.
  • Coordinating law school student outreach efforts.
  • Assisting in maintaining/auditing the database of bar admissions and assisting with the bar admissions process as needed.
  • Tracking attorney leaves of absence, secondments, clerkships, etc.
  • Assisting with coordination of visa-related matters.
  • Assisting the Diversity & Inclusion, Career Counseling, and Professional Development teams as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of three years of related recruitment experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of recruitment principles and concepts in a professional services or law firm environment.
  • Understanding of current regulations associated with a lawful recruiting process.
  • Exceptional client service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently while multi-tasking.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook, various databases and Internet research skills.  Working knowledge of viRecruit preferred.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary, including attending Talent Development and Summer Program related events.
