Assistant – Legal Talent Office, Diversity & Inclusion
Summary
Assist the Legal Talent Office (“LTO”) with coordination of the Firm’s diversity and inclusion (“D&I”) programs, meetings and events as well as legal recruiting and associate development efforts for the NY and DC offices. Provide support to the LTO personnel on various administrative matters as needed.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist with all aspects of the Firm’s D&I programs and events (e.g., Student Diversity Leadership Summit, Diversity Mock Interview Program, PALS Writing Workshop, and LEEP/Legal Outreach/Boys’ Club of NY/YWCA Legal Intern week, etc.).
- Schedule meetings and prepare relevant materials for the Diversity Committee, affinity networks, and the WIC.
- Maintain internal D&I calendar.
- Coordinate sponsorships/tickets to external events and organizations for the NY and DC offices.
- Assist the Legal Recruiting team in the NY and DC offices, including support of the Summer Associate Program and callback interview process. (e.g., greet and escort candidates, data entry in PeopleSoft, serve as recruiting contact for law schools, etc.).
- Provide general support to on various Associate Development initiatives, including the Floor Wizard Program.
- Assist with other administrative duties, as assigned, and provide support, including phone coverage, for the Associate Director as needed.
- Handle special projects as needed.
The scheduled hours for this position are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The incumbent may be required to work overtime depending on the needs of the firm.
In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm’s information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.
Qualifications
Candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, energetic, and motivated. They must possess superior written and verbal skills and should be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, including senior lawyers. Must be able to juggle multiple tasks with competing tight deadlines.
Education and/or experience
B.A. required. Experience working at a law firm or similarly fast-paced professional services environment preferred.
