An Am Law 50 law firm with offices worldwide, has an opening for an Employee Relations Coordinator within their Human Resources Department in their San Francisco office.

The Opportunity 

It’s an exciting time to join our fast-paced Human Resources team! The Employee Relations Coordinator is primarily responsible for assisting with and coordinating a variety of general processes within the ER function.  The Coordinator manages ER related metrics to assist with strategy and offer solutions. This individual should be proactive and have the drive to create opportunities, solve problems, execute flawlessly and deliver high quality results that add value to the department and organization.

  • Manage compliance postings-regularly review and update office federal, state and local required postings coordinating with ER and local office.
  • Assist with the employee departures HR administrative process – prepare package documents (including edited severance agreement, unemployment documents, payroll log-in info, benefits info sheet, draft Change of Status Notice, etc.), coordinate return of firm property, arrange return of personal items, coordinate computer review, etc.).
  • Ensure HR records retention procedures are followed pursuant to documented process.
  • Manage updating and formatting of ER policy training presentation; participate in New Hire Orientation as needed.
  • Use independent judgment to conduct research regarding legal updates/compliance for all offices as requested.
  • Track policy acknowledgments of new hires with the Talent Development team.
  • Track and report on trainings and completion status in Workday.
  • Assist in project planning and documentation of processes.
  • Update and create compliance/Employee Relations documents.
  • Review of existing policies along with market research.

Ideal Candidate       

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Two to three plus years of Human Resources experience preferred.

  • Ability to take an assignment from inception to completion with appropriate supervision or by following department guidelines.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent proofreading skills.
  • Talent for delivering client service through teamwork.
  • Highly effective communications skills, and ability to communicate credibly and diplomatically with all levels in an organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex ideas succinctly and clearly.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and other applications used by department.
  • A highly proactive, solution-oriented approach to work and interactions.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.
  • Ability to organize time, prioritize workload effectively, and work independently.
  • Available to work overtime as needed.
  • Strong project and process management skills.
  • Reliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests quickly.
