An Am Law 50 law firm with offices globally, has an opening for a Key Client Relations Analyst within their Marketing Department in their London office.
The Opportunity
It’s an exciting time to join our client’s Global Marketing Team! The Key Client Relations Analyst operates under the direction of the Key Client team partners and the Director of Client Relations to maintain and grow the Firm’s relationship with one of their key technology clients (“the Key Client”), with an emphasis on enabling strategic growth.
- Supports the Key Client relationship partner and the client team, to enhance and expand relationship with the Key Client
- Collects and analyzes all available data pertaining to the Key Client relationship. Provides actionable recommendations based on data analysis to grow and deepen the relationship and safeguard against threats to the relationship. Produces reports such as new matter alerts, and monthly/quarterly financial reports reflecting firm’s key financial reporting indicators.
- With the Director or Client Relations, supports opportunities to expand work for the Key Client, and distills firm’s qualifications to seek to win new work [e.g. robotics, analytics, machine learning to highlight our leadership credentials in certain areas].
- Implements plans for targeting and developing relationships, as appropriate, with portfolio companies of the Key Client.
- Identifies and establishes, with the support of Client Relations Director, the infrastructure across the Key Client team: key activities involving capturing and sharing client information around pricing agreements, relationship investment (including ROI) meetings, billings, client news, client contacts, mailings lists, etc.
- Maintains and updates an “on-boarding” process to help client orientation for fee earners on all Key Client matters.
- Helps plan, strategize and implement a global client team for growing the Key Client relationship, based on analysis described above. Tracks activities and progress against goals. Ensures progress on Key Client-related initiatives and alignment with Key Client policies.
- Creates and maintains relationship map and critical client contact information for Key Client.
- Acts as contact for Key Client on panel pitches, RFP content, presentation rehearsals, win /loss reviews, etc. Maintains descriptions of Key Client matters.
- Provides support to ensure firm maximizes benefits from the client secondment, such as providing pre-briefs, keeping in touch programs and debriefs upon completion of the secondment
- Supports regular Key Client team meetings and/or calls occur regionally and globally as appropriate and assist with content of meetings. Participates in regular communication among team members between meetings and proactively provides regular reporting on the relationship. Takes ownership and drives follow-ups from those meetings. Project management.
- Assesses opportunities for growth with the Key Client based on how its needs align with the evolving expertise at the Firm. Works with the Key Client team partners and Client Relations Director to ensure introductions are made to new laterals and other Firm partners with relevant expertise.
- Helps identify events and other business development activities to undertake with/for the Key Client, including social events, CLE programs, pro bono clinics, client networks, workshops, voice of client interviews, client summits, and other activities to be determined by the client relations manager.
- Liaises with local marketing staff across the Firm network to ensure execution of events and other business development activities for the Key Client to the highest standards.
- Provides support for any other initiatives aimed at enhancing the Firm’s client relationships or as otherwise requested by Director of Client Relations.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of management consulting experience or similar background strongly preferred.
- Experience in the technology sector desirable but not essential.
- Analytical and strategic mindset paired with a willingness to execute on projects alone or with a team.
- Strong client-service orientation and work ethic with a commitment to excellence and the drive to achieve it.
- Ability to learn and demonstrate knowledge of the Key Client and of the Firm, its other clients, and its practices and to navigate throughout the firm.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- High emotional intelligence and strong relationship building skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and pitch in when and where needed.
- Excellent execution and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
