Summary
Premier, forward thinking, global, law firm has an opening for a Business Development Coordinator in their New York office. The Business Development Coordinator supports business development and marketing initiatives, pitch and proposal efforts, the development of client relationships and new business opportunities, and maintenance of current client relations for the real estate, structured credit, private investment funds, and employment practice groups firm wide.
In this capacity, the Business Development Coordinator will:
- Participate in planning, preparing, implementing, and tracking the Business Development Department’s initiatives, including client relationship management, pitch/proposal, RFP responses, cross-selling activities, integrated client outreach, marketing campaigns, and promotion of best practices;
- Collaborate on key client and practice group initiatives;
Support the development and execution of annual business plans for both industry initiatives and key client relationships; - Provide support in the preparation, editing, coordination, and dissemination of materials including pitch/proposal;
- Maintain and update practice descriptions, document practice specific experience and credentials, and ensure content is kept current;
- Support client relationship management including understanding of priority clients’ current work, key contacts, practice offerings, and relationship building strategies;
- Monitor priority clients’ business, movement within clients’ organization, and other developments and identify cross-selling opportunities to expand client relationships;
- Research and analyze high level trends and developments impacting the industry in order to help identify new business opportunities;
- Assist in the implementation of seminars and events, including coordinating invitations and RSVP lists, preparing and editing presentations, organizing event registration, and collaborating with vendors, team members and other internal departments as needed;
- Coordinating sponsorship/membership opportunities (i.e., arranging payments, monitoring deadlines for ad production, logo submissions, coordinating marketing collateral materials etc.);
- Participate in Business Development departmental cross-training;
- Work overtime and travel as needed; and
- Handle additional business development and marketing projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field;
- 2+ years of business development, marketing or sales proposal support experience (professional services industry experience preferred);
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Advanced proficiency in English language usage, including punctuation, spelling, grammar and writing skills;
- Advanced proficiency in online research and Internet resources;
- Fundamental knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications;
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects;
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills to interact with vendors, staff and attorneys at all levels;
- Fundamental knowledge of the needs and expectations of law firm operations and corporate legal clients in order to function at a strategic level; and
- Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts.
