Assistant Managing Clerk
A law firm is seeking to hire an Assistant Managing Clerk to join their New York office.
SUMMARY: Responsible for docketing/calendaring/e-filing/going to and from court.
- File papers (both via CM/ECF & NYSCEF and by hand/in hard copy, when necessary), and deliver courtesy copies of pleadings, motions, and other court papers as needed.
- Docket and calendar court papers. Obtain online dockets and documents upon request.
- Complete by-hand/mail services upon co-counsel and opposing counsel, as well as make routine deliveries to local state and federal agencies (e.g., the Secretary of State and NYS Office of Court Administration).
- Assist in setting-up and maintaining electronic case and docket monitors.
- Order and obtain transcripts of court appearances (nationwide, both state and federal), ensuring timely turnaround and payment.
- Answer court procedures & policies questions where appropriate.
- Perform such other duties that may be assigned from time to time that are reasonable and appropriate for the position.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree and have approximately 5 years’ experience. Shortly after joining the MCO, every clerk will be expected to become a NYS Notary Public.
