The Senior Business Development Coordinator supports business development and marketing initiatives, pitch and proposal efforts, the development of client relationships and new business opportunities, for the Technology, Entertainment & Media and Life Sciences industries. This position reports to the Manager, Business Development, Technology, Entertainment & Media.
In this capacity, the Senior Business Development Coordinator will:
- Participate in planning, preparing and implementing the Business Development Department’s initiatives, including any of the following: client relationship management, pitch/proposal, RFP responses, cross-selling activities, integrated client outreach and marketing campaigns, and promotion of best practices;
- Collaborate on key client and Technology, Entertainment & Media and Life Sciences industries initiatives;
- Support the development and execution of annual business plans for both industry initiatives and key client relationships;
- Provide support in the preparation, editing, coordination, and dissemination of materials including pitch/proposal;
- Maintain and update industry practice descriptions, document industry specific experience and credentials, and ensure content is kept current;
- Support client relationship management including understanding of priority clients’ current work, key contacts, practice offerings, and relationship building strategies;
- Monitor priority clients’ business, movement within clients’ organization, and other developments and identify cross-selling opportunities to expand client relationships;
- Research and analyze high level trends and developments impacting the industry in order to help identify new business opportunities;
- Assist in the implementation of seminars and events;
- Participate in Business Development departmental cross-training;
- Work overtime and travel as required; and
- Handle additional business development and marketing projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree;
- 4+ years of marketing experience (professional services industry experience preferred);
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Advanced proficiency in English language usage, including punctuation, spelling, grammar and writing skills;
- Advanced proficiency in online research and internet resources (Lexis-Nexis and equivalents);
- Fundamental knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications;
- Fundamental knowledge of the needs and expectations of law firm operations and corporate legal clients in order to function at a strategic level; and
- Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts.
