Paralegal – Litigation & Trial – International Arbitration Group

Summary
The New York Office is conducting a search for a Litigation Paralegal to assist Firm attorneys on International Arbitrations in our fast paced Litigation & Trial Practice Group. The paralegal would help with fact development on prospective cases (chronologies and database management) and also assist on matters, as well as conduct one to two filings per week. Candidates should be self-starters, highly organized and team players. Overtime is often needed to meet client deadlines. Some travel required.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and analyzing matters for the purpose of preparing status reports to attorneys and clients
- Establishing, organizing, and maintaining pleadings, attorney trial notebooks, expert witness notebooks, document indexes and lists
- Participating in interviews of parties, witnesses, and experts and providing assistance with interview memos, written statements, and/or affidavits
- Reviewing, outlining, and summarizing documents
- Performing assigned legal research tasks using all available resources, including libraries and computer data systems
- Prepare and conduct filings/searches and assist lawyers in the preparation of filings
- Proofreading and marking legal documents
- Interacting with clients and maintaining files
Qualifications
- Four year college degree
• Self-motivated and detail oriented
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
• Must be available to work overtime
• Preference will be given to candidates who plan to or have taken the LSAT and who plan on attending law school within the next 2 to 3 years
