As a Senior Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator you will be responsible for the onboarding and integration of new associates in the NY office, as well as efforts to re-integrate associates into the office after leaves of absence, secondments, and other time out of the office.  The Senior Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator will be responsible for supporting various firm Committees and affinity groups and assisting with local state bar admissions and CLE accreditation, compliance, and reporting.  The Senior Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator will act as a mentor to, and assist with the supervision of the Coordinators, Assistants, and Trainees in the NY Attorney Development Department.  The Senior Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator will serve as the back-up to the Manager of Attorney Development and Programs for unassigned associate staffing and will be responsible for summer associate staffing. The responsibilities of the Senior Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator will include:

  • Working with the Manager of Attorney Development and Programs, NY office leadership, and various firm Committees and support departments to coordinate all aspects of orientation, training, and onboarding for new associate hires, as well as permanent and temporary transfers in the NY office, and helping coordinate firm efforts to reintegrate associates following leaves of absence and secondments.
  • Assisting the Manager of Attorney Development and Programs with developmental efforts for lawyers in the office, including practice group support, weekly work reports, associate staffing, associate relations initiatives and events, recordkeeping and file maintenance, budget monitoring, Bar admission monitoring, orientation, and integration.
  • Assisting the Manager of Attorney Development and Programs with unassigned associate staffing when needed and having primary responsibility for summer associate staffing.
  • Serving as the point of contact and lead support staff for the NY Pro Bono Committee, assisting the local Committee and liaising with the global Pro Bono Committee support staff, and assisting NY affinity groups with local events and programming.
  • Assisting with local office MCLE courses and reporting of such courses to applicable state CLE board.
  • Coordinating arrangements in the office related to certain firm-wide training events, including announcements, enrollment, handouts, catering and room logistics and requirements, and meeting with speakers.
  • Performing other administrative duties related to attorney development programs for the local office, as directed by the Manager of Attorney Development and Programs, and assisting in the supervision of the Coordinators, Assistants, and Trainees in the Attorney Development Department.
  • Assisting with special projects on various issues as needed.
  • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers.

As a Senior Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Senior Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator will have well-developed and professional interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus. The ideal candidate will be able to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm and have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The Senior Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator will have the organizational skills to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines, as well as the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion. The candidate will have strong attention to detail and quality assurance processes, in addition to knowledge and proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required. A minimum of four (4) years of attorney development experience or a J.D. and experience practicing law at a law firm is desired.
