As an Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator you will serve as one of the NY contacts for local state bar admissions and CLE accreditation, compliance, and reporting. The Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator will also assist with the onboarding and integration of new attorneys in the NY office, and support the work of various firm Committees and affinity groups. The responsibilities of the Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator will include:

  • Working with the NY Attorney Development Department, NY office leadership, and NY support departments to assist with orientation, training, and onboarding of new attorney hires in the NY office, as well as permanent and temporary transfers into the NY office.
  • Providing assistance and support to various firm Committees and affinity groups.
  • Assisting the Manager of Attorney Development and Programs with developmental efforts for lawyers in the office, including practice group support, weekly work reports, associate staffing, associate relations initiatives and events, recordkeeping and file maintenance, budget monitoring, Bar admission monitoring, orientation, and integration.
  • Assisting with tracking local state Bar admissions and maintaining comprehensive spreadsheet or database to monitor state Bar credits for all attorneys firm-wide admitted to the local state Bar.
  • Preparing the necessary documentation for application to the local state Bar after each MCLE activity in order to acquire proper course accreditation, and assisting with the mid-year and year-end MCLE reporting process for the applicable local state Bar(s).
  • Coordinating the logistics of local MCLE programs, working with the relevant attorneys and staff departments, responding to MCLE-related questions, and staying abreast of relevant MCLE and state bar developments.
  • Coordinating all arrangements in the office related to firm-wide training events, including announcements, enrollments, handouts, all catering and room logistics and requirements, and meeting with speakers.
  • Keeping abreast of the firm’s Intranet calendar to ensure any training or scheduling conflicts are resolved.
  • Performing other administrative duties related to attorney development programs for the local office, as directed by the Manager of Attorney Development and Programs.
  • Assisting with special projects on various issues as needed.
  • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers.

As an Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator will have well-developed and professional interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus. The ideal candidate will be able to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm and have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The Attorney Development and MCLE Coordinator will have the organizational skills to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines, as well as the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion. The candidate will have strong attention to detail and quality assurance processes, in addition to knowledge and proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office.

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, and a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of attorney development/MCLE experience is desired.
