Professional Development Coordinator

Overview
The Professional Development Coordinator is a key member of the PD team and a valued resource for attorneys at the firm. The position supports Firm’s cutting-edge associate development initiatives, as well as individual attorneys’ continuing education compliance and goals.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Manager of Professional Development, the primary responsibilities include:
- Coordinate training programs for NY and other domestic offices, which includes: communicating with attorney presenters & outside consultants and coordinating conference rooms, catering, videoconferencing and other technical needs
- Collaborate with PD team to plan new associate orientation and other multi-day programs, held in New York for attorneys from multiple Firm offices
- Plan social events held in connection with new associate orientation and other programs
- Advise attorneys about their CLE compliance, research off-site CLE opportunities as requested by attorneys, assist attorneys with applications for time extensions
- Coordinate program evaluations, assist at associate focus groups, compile and analyze feedback, and recommend improvements as needed
- Support PD Team with implementing coaching and mentoring programs
- Maintain CLE database, records and reports to ensure the firm and its attorneys comply with CLE rules and regulations
- Manage relationships with external CLE vendors, coordinate webcasts and external program enrollment, and promote relevant programs
- Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- A 4-year college degree strongly preferred
- 1 – 2 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Prior law firm experience encouraged
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required. Knowledge of CE Manager CLE tracking system preferred
- NY CLE experience preferred
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with attorneys
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative and juggle multiple priorities
- Positive, flexible attitude; team player
- Flexible and available for overtime as needed
