Paralegal, Investment Management

Summary

Large, national, law firm is seeking a candidate who has demonstrated drive, dedication, professionalism and a positive attitude.  The Paralegal will work with the Investment Management AML Attorneys and Group Administrator to provide assistance on a variety of tasks.

This Paralegal assists attorneys with assignments involving complex paralegal duties requiring initiative, and skill.  Attention to fine detail is essential. In addition, this position will include substantial database responsibilities and systems management projects for which the paralegal will be trained.

Essential Job Requirements

  • File documents with regulatory authorities, project assistance and documentary requirements
  • Database project management and administration;
  • Data entry and preparation of reports;
  • Development of processes to gather, record, and maintain information with respect to current, ongoing and closed transactions for the AML group;
  • Assist lawyers in the preparation and drafting of certifications, schedules, due diligence and agreements;
  • Work directly with lawyers to prepare AML, OFAC, CDD and other regulatory filings;
  • Manage databases, documents and files;
  • Calendar and monitor key dates and deadlines;
  • Proofread and edit various documents;
  • Ability to reach for, lift and carry legal files up to a maximum of 10 pounds;
  • Notary-not required, would be a plus. 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college is preferred but not required;
  • 2 – 4 years prior work experience is required; experience in a banking, corporate law or asset management practice group is a plus;
  • Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Visio, SharePoint and ShareFile is a plus;
  • Ability to work independently and work well with others;
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail are critical;
  • A desire to learn and adapt as needed;
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility and work in a fast-paced environment is critical;
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Schedule: Monday-Friday / 9:30 AM-5:30 PM or 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (overtime when required and must be responsive to e-mails after hours).  Overtime will be required; weekend work may be required.

Amount of Travel Required:  50% travel to New York may be required (if employee resides in Roseland office).
