Assistant, Professional Development

Summary

The Assistant, Professional Development will leverage excellent attention to detail, as well as communication and interpersonal skills to support the firm’s Professional Development (PD) team. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with the administration of Continuing Legal Education (CLE), coordinating a variety of training initiatives, assisting with the lawyer performance review process, and providing administrative support to the Director, Professional Development, among other duties as assigned. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with administering Continuing Legal Education (CLE), including maintaining the firm’s online video library, entry of third party certificates, and entry of CLE program information into CE Manager, the firm’s CLE tracking database
  • Assist with training programs and social events, including coordinating logistics such as booking conference rooms, catering, and preparation of program materials
  • Assist with administering the Lawyer Review process
  • Assist with the entry-level associate onboarding process
  • Provide administrative support to the Director, Professional Development
  • Maintain the PD calendar
  • Process and track department invoices and Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Assist the PD team with day-to-day administrative tasks as needed (expense reports, filing, etc.)
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

Essential

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments while working under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion
  • Client-service oriented with good interpersonal skills and a personable demeanor

Desirable

  • Knowledge of CE Manager and viDesktop
  • 1-2 years of prior work experience in a related role

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Physical Activity/Other Miscellaneous
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary
